Wood Products

Care and Maintenance

To clean any of our wood furniture, wipe with a soft slightly damp cloth. Too much water can damage or stain the wood. Avoid the use of chemicals or any abrasive cleaners. Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth. Dust often using a soft, clean, lint–free cloth. Avoid harsh fabrics, paper towels or disposable dusting towels as they may scratch the surface as well. Use a non–silicone and non–wax polish; do not use soap or wax. To maintain the quality of the wood and the finish do not expose to direct sunlight or excessive
temperatures. Extreme changes in humidity can cause warping and or cracking of the wood.

NOTE: Warranty may be voided if proper maintenance or care is not followed

Outdoor Wood Products

To increase longevity of outdoor real or faux wood products, it is recommended that these products be stored indoors throughout the winter. If this is not possible, the best alternative is to make sure the product is completely dry, and to shrink-wrap with a watertight seal to prevent moisture from freezing and thawing in the grain or the wood or wood alternative product.

Warranty

Tru Contract hereby warrants the structural integrity of wood frames for a period of two (2) years of commercial use.  Wood and upholstered products are warranted against damages caused by material and workmanship defects, occurring during a normal use and under the conditions for which the products are designed.  In the event that there is warping, loosening or opening of frames within the specified time period, Tru Contract will repair and or replace the frames free of cost to the client.  The warranty does not cover normal wear of paint, lacquer, or upholstery covering.

This warranty does not apply to defects resulting from improper use, care or assembly, from unauthorized repair or alteration or from negligence. The warranty does not cover fading from the sun. Failing to replace worn out chair or table glides will void any warranty.

Metal Products

Care and Maintenance

Tru Contract hereby warrants the welding and metal structure of its products for a period of three (3) years of commercial use. Metal, wood and upholstered products are warranted against damages caused by material and workmanship defects, occurring during a normal use and under the conditions for which
the products are designed.  The warranty does not cover normal wear of paint, lacquer, or upholstery covering. The warranty does not cover fading from the sun.

To clean any of our metal furniture, wipe with a soft damp cloth. Avoid the use of chemicals or any abrasive cleaners as these may scratch the finish. A mild solution of soap and water may be used if needed but take care to not let the water come into contact with any wood, that may be on the chair.
Products with wood seats or seat backs may be cleaned in the same manner but avoid using anything  more than a slightly damp cloth as too much water could damage or stain the wood. Wipe up spills immediately.

To maintain the quality of the wood and the finish do not expose to direct sunlight or excessive temperatures. Extreme changes in humidity can cause warping and or cracking of the wood. To clean any of our table bases, wipe with a soft damp cloth. Avoid the use of chemicals or any abrasive cleaners
as these may damage the finish. A mild solution of soap and water may be used if needed.

Stainless steel cleaner can be used with a soft cloth on the stainless steel bases if needed. Even though the stainless steel has a brushed finish do not use any steel wool products as the “brushing” on the bases is uniform and in a consistent direction and steel wool will scratch the finish and be very noticeable.

Bases should be checked frequently to ensure that they are tight and that none of the bolted connections have become loose if they have not been factory welded. If table tops spin while the base is stationary it means that the base has come loose and needs to be tightened. Typically, this needs to be done from both the top and bottom of the base. Table base glides on the bottom of the base should be checked frequently for wear. If standard glides are used, they may be screwed in or out to prevent the table base from wobbling on uneven floors. Caution should be taken to avoid screwing out the glide to the end of the threads where it can fall out and go missing. If a glide is missing the table top will wobble and not sit level. Please contact us to order replacement glides as needed.

NOTE: Warranty may be voided if proper maintenance or care is not followed.

Outdoor Metal Products

As with any equipment, proper and periodic maintenance is necessary to ensure longevity of the product and customer satisfaction. To ensure you get the most out of your investment, please follow our recommended maintenance and care instructions. We recommend that the products be examined every 30 days. Items requiring adjustments, showing any sign of structural failure, that have missing hardware or that show any cracks at the welds should be taken out of service immediately until repaired. Loose screws should be tightened as required and missing or worn-out foot caps must be replaced. To obtain replacement parts, please contact your local representation or local dealer.
Furniture should be handled with care. When chairs are stacked, the stack should not be dragged.

Stackable chairs should not be dropped or slammed down when being un-stacked. People should not rock backwards or stand on any Tru Contract item. For storage, all furniture should be stored neatly, stacked to suggested height, and packed in a clean and dry area. Tables should not be flipped and stacked. Any standing water needs to be removed to avoid damage to finish. Cushions that are stored for longer periods of time should be stored in a dry ventilated area.

NOTE: Warranty may be voided if proper maintenance or care is not followed.

Upholstered Items and Components

Foam and upholstery products have a one (1) year limited warranty if Tru Contract standard materials are used. Specialized foam and/or C.O.M. or C.O.L. materials are subject to their manufacturer’s standard warranty. The warranty does not cover fading from the sun or puncture. Fabrics are subject to their manufacturer’s warranty and are not a responsibility of Tru Contract.

Among other things, this warranty excludes decorative features, support panels for mattresses, glass components, glides and other accessories. This warranty does not apply to defects resulting from improper use, care or assembly, from unauthorized repair or alteration or from negligence. Failing to replace worn out chair or table glides will void any warranty.

Cleaning of Leather and Vinyl

Leather and vinyl: For minor spots and spills, immediately wipe with a soft white cloth dampened with distilled water and let air–dry. Do not dry with hair dryers, heaters, etc.

Leather: For spills of butter, oil or grease, wipe up any excess with a clean, dry cloth. Do not apply water or try to wash the spot. Leave spot alone. The spot should dissipate into leather after a short period of time. To keep the leather supple and prevent fading, protect it from exposure to direct sunlight and heating
vents. Dust with a clean soft cloth. Do not use Saddle soap, cleaning solvents, furniture polish, oils, varnish or abrasive cleaners as these can damage the leather.

NOTE: Warranty may be voided if proper maintenance or care is not followed.

Synthetic Wood Products

Our Durawood slats are a realistic composite which include a polymer called Polystyrene. This is a great material for many reasons. It is resistant to fading, scratching, or warping and it requires no maintenance. Its composition is what makes it so low-maintenance and durable.

Due to its unique composite makeup, burn marks could be caused under specific conditions: if strong and direct sunlight passes through a convex crystal wine glass filled with clear liquid, the wine glass becomes a magnifying glass and will concentrate the power of the sunlight. In some circumstances, a thick concave-shaped water glass base may also behave this way.  A magnifying glass in the sun can  concentrate heat strong enough to start a fire with a piece of paper, which happens at 451 degrees
Fahrenheit. Polystyrene has a melting point of 240° F, like most other resins.

This outcome is not covered under our warranty. This is because it’s not a flaw in the product itself. Other than metal, any material that would be affected by someone burning holes with a magnifying glass would
show similar damage. This includes wood or other resin products. It is a trifecta of variables that cause this – direct sunlight, the perfect convex of the glass, clear liquid and glass to refract the light. To prevent this from happening, we recommend using patio umbrellas or glassware that doesn’t have a large, convex surface.

Semi-Transparent, Rustic, or Distressed Finishes

These unique finishes assure you that no two pieces will ever be identical since through these finishes you are able to see details such as welding lines, sanding and other techniques. A certain amount of discoloration of the steel in various spots is a natural occurrence in this process and should not be considered a defect.

Indoor and Outdoor Laminate

No specific maintenance other than normal cleaning is required. The compact, non-porous surface can easily be cleaned and disinfected with hot water, steam and any common non-abrasive household detergents and disinfectants, as long as these are not highly alkaline. Just a couple of precautions are necessary: avoid using strong acids and bases and avoid wiping with highly abrasive substances or equipment.

NOTE: Warranty may be voided if proper maintenance or care is not followed.

Damage in Transport

This warranty does not cover transit and handling damages to products sold on the Internet or by catalogue, unless they are specifically designed and packaged for direct delivery to the consumer by Tru Contract. To file a freight claim, damage to the packaging must be noted on the Bill of Lading signed at
the time of delivery. Photos of damage are required to process a claim. Your sales representative must be aware of the freight damage within 48 hours of receipt of the order. Under this warranty, Tru Contract will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective part at no cost except for transportation, handling, and shipping costs which will be charged to the purchaser.

Reimbursement of these fees are at the discretion of the 3rd party carrier responsible for the freight. The replacement parts are included in this warranty for the remainder of the original warranty period. This is a limited warranty, any defect not specifically covered herein is excluded. Where allowed under the law, Tru Contract disclaims liability for all special, incidental, and consequential damages.
